Monroeville Mall served as the main film location of DAWN OF THE DEAD. The building has recently been repaired and updated which resulted in some external walls being torn down to repair. The building's exterior is made of unique bricks as can be seen in the screenshot from the film. The bricks are made of shiny stone pieces embedded in the brick material. This is not easy to see in the building from any distance, but up close the tiny stones are very visible. Included here is one brick chunk piece that includes the unique shiny stones. The chunk of brick came directly from this exterior wall near the entrance where the motorcycles entered the mall in the film. The brick piece is packaged in a poly bag with header card by Living Dead Museum. The back of the card features a certificate of authenticity signed and dated by the museum curator of Living Dead Museum, the Zombie Museum in the Monroeville Mall.
